We are looking for a director brand strategy

More than ever, brands must offer pragmatic solutions to societal issues to remain relevant. From a strategic perspective, there is an incredible opportunity for these solutions to be useful, relevant and growth-enhancing.

Republik is looking for a Senior Brand & Sustainability Strategist who wants to work for brands that take concrete actions for the environment and society. This person, in the role of Brand Strategy Director, will be called upon to accompany clients in their transformation and ideation process. To achieve this, she will dare to ask the tough questions, challenge clients to think beyond quarterly objectives and propose ambitious solutions to societal problems, with a constant focus on the search for long-term impact and profitability.

The successful candidate understands brands and their potential for influence in society and knows how to combine his or her expertise with solving business problems skillfully. He/she always seeks to base his/her strategies on insights that clarify stakeholders' expectations of the brands.


  • Supervise the agency's impact brand platform development process.
  • Rigorously develop stakeholder consultation processes.
  • Identify social and environmental issues relevant to the client.
  • Facilitate workshops with clients on ideation and innovation.
  • Interpret complex insights into relevant strategic pillars.
  • Define the client's brand positioning and narrative pillars.
  • Identify opportunities for impact, partnerships and innovation.
  • Build opportunity studies to support recommendations.
  • Advise on the positions taken in coherence with the positioning.
  • Coach the other members of the strategy team, in line with his expertise.
  • Develop transition plans with a 3 to 5 year perspective.


  • Minimum of 15 years experience in a brand strategist position.
  • Experience with international brands.
  • Experience in facilitating discussion, ideation and innovation workshops.
  • Education in sustainable development or related discipline an asset.
  • Ability to ask tough questions and challenge clients with credibility, tact and empathy.
  • Proficiency in business, branding and communication problem solving.
  • Thorough understanding of social and environmental issues and their impact on business, business models and the role of brands.
  • Knowledge of the main principles of design thinking is an asset.
  • Seeks collaboration and diversity of opinion when solving problems.
  • Good ability to present and argue ideas in front of the client.
  • Ability to communicate in English and French, both orally and in writing.
